2004 jeep grand charokee grinding noise when braking . New rotors brakes and tires . Seems to be in front end .
Did the grinding noise start after changing the brakes?
If so, then something went wrong during the installation. I would look it all over, to see if not something is mounted wrongly.
If the noise was there before, check the wheel bearings for play.
Hi if its a heavy grind probably front wheel bearing seam to be a comon problem on the charokee also check the brakes for debris in the brake shoes also get front drive shaft bearing checked you can do this your self by turning full lock to lock in a car park ect listen for knocking noise ect but its probably a wheel bearing
Outer axle bearings? Wheel bearings, CV joints?
I have seen brake hardware shift over during a brake job causing the pad retainers to rub the rotors, also it could be a bad wheel bearing. That's the best I can do over the net with the information given, hope it helps.
Ok, think about mass that moves under the forces of braking, things like engines and gearboxes, have you checked all those mounts for integrity, have a look to see if anything has been rubbing, new shiney spots appearing that weren't there before.
