There's no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to getting back on your feet mentally and emotionally. Perhaps you've already replayed that magical moment on your wedding day over and over again in your head and you still can't come to terms with the reality in front of you. Or maybe it's the other way around. Maybe instead of happy memories, you're filled with bitterness and anger. It could also be that you're flooded by the worries about what will happen from now on.
Whatever you're feeling, remember that you have the right to feel all those emotions. But you have to also remember that in order for you and your spouse to find an amicable setup or solution, you have to look past those negative thoughts and feelings and get on with the formalities entailed in a divorce.
This doesn't mean however that you will have to overlook and abandon your feelings altogether. You can try seeking help from a professional, someone who will serve as an impartial mediator who will help you and your ex-spouse address your feelings towards one another and towards the divorce.
You might also want to consider seeking professional help from a spousal support attorney who will be able to help you evaluate matters related to assets and finances which are often two of the main reasons why people tend to feel anxious about a divorce. If you think the negativity stems from concerns regarding how you'll move forward in life after the divorce, a spousal support attorney may be of help.
Of course, nothing beats legal counsel and guidance from an experienced Walnut Creek divorce attorney at Kaspar & Lugay. Your attorney will be able to help you not only on the legal aspect of the divorce but also with how you can effectively deal with an move on from negative thoughts from your divorce.
