When you say stuck in park do you mean the brakes are locked on?

SOURCE: ford focus brake light failure !!!

1 - are you SURE theyre the right bulbs! - if theyre too bright they can blow the fuse, if theyre the wrong type of bulb they will blow the fuse.. best get the bulbs direct from ford, they are always in stock, so are the proper fuses.
2 - theres a center brakelight isnt there? check this bulb too for proper wattage and size/shape
Other than that maybe the wiring in the boot is damaged and shorting?? -----

Brake lights were on continuously.changed brake switch now the wont work at all and stuck in park

The brake switch is probably mis-adjusted. If it does not activate when the brake pedal is depressed, the brake lights will not light and the gear shift release solenoid will not activate. That, or the wiring harness is not connected properly to the switch or is damaged.

1994 aerostar van , automatic trans , will not shift after sreering column was worked on

Check out the brake pedal lights. If the van is stuck in Park, a switch on the brake pedal lever sends a signal to the release. The brake lights probably do not work and you are missing this signal.

Your foot needs to stay on the brake pedal in order for the shifter to work.

My 2001 Oldsmobile Alero won't shift out of park.

Before you go too far, your problem might be as simple as mine was. The gear shift knob had slipped and was not down far enough on the shaft to engage the release mechanism.

Ford crown vic stuck in park

ok you can have a few things wrong. First have some one step on brake pedal see if brake lights come on. If not these vehicles were bad about the wires braking to the brake light switch. After check ing lights and you have found the are operating correctly, try turning igintion key cylinder to first notch just before dash lights come on, now see if you can shift out of park if so the shift interlock solienod on back of column is bad. Lastly if the sifter is really loose they are two 30 torx screws on the back of the column hold the bracket to the shift cable, if that comes off or loose you can not shift as well. Hope this helps if so please vote thank you

My 2001 ford focus is stuck in park, stepping on brake, does not release it from park, and brake lights are not working.........

Without the brake lights working the shift interlock can't release. Turn the key just off the "locked" position and you should be able to shift to neutral and start the engine then shift to drive or reverse. Just don't shift back into park until you are parking the car to leave it.

My car is stuck in park, the brake lights do not work, Ive replaced the switch on the brake pedal and the turn signal switch. Its a 1995 Ford Taurus GL with a 3.0L. I can get the car out of park by turning...

The neutral safety switch on the tranny is going out. Replace this switch and you should not have any more problems. This switch registers that your foot is on the brake before it will allow it to come out of park to keep kids from accidently engaging the shifter.

it's under a dime size cover on your console near the shifter. But, your brake/shift interlock solenoid is not working. either a fuse or the solenoid is bad. see owner manual for lcoation of over ride.
