Firing order and distribution wire for volvo 240 1991

Never seen firing order of123456.
You should be able to find firing order with web search.

the easiest way is to do one at a time when working with plugs or wires.but if you don`t then cylinder 1 is on the end of the motor were the pulleys are then 2,3,4.this i think is a distributer system so the cap is usually marked were cylinder 1`s wire is installed.then you have to see which way the distributer rotates.then the next wire to #1 in the direction the distributer rotates will be the next wire in the firing order.the firing order is 1342.

You need to determin which direction the rotor button turns when the engine is running. Take the cap off and get someone to bump the starter . Watch the rotor. If it turns counter clockwise the fireing order will follow its order counter clockwise on the distributer .In other words # 1 wire on the distributer goes to # 1 spark plug. Then the next wire counting counterclockwise goes to # 3 plug . Follow the firing around the distributer for all the wires. counter clockwise is the oppisit to the rotation of the hands on a clock .

Here is the firing order diagram for that 5 cylinder engine, and the firing order is the same for the 2.3 and the 2.5 liter engines.

I believe it firing order is 1-4-2-3 (where cyclinder #1 is the closest to the fire wall) and your distributer has the plug wires running almost vertically.

1st cylinder = the very bottom
4th cylinder = second from the bottom
2nd cylinder = second from the top
3rd cylinder = the top connection on the distributer.

B230F/T or B234 Four Cylinder: Firing order 1-3-4-2.

• Rear distributor: Left-to-right terminals are 4-3-1-2
• Side distributor: Front terminal is 1, thence clockwise around to 3-4-2
• Plugs: Front-of-engine-to-back: 1-2-3-4
