How to reset emergency trunk release dodge stratus?

I purchased a Chiltons through www.eautorepair.net and looked up the Relay for the trunk release button on the dash. I found the location under the fuse panel under the drivers side and found the relay was not pluged in. I conected the relay and to my dismay the button worked.

either there is a release handle or you may have to press the pedal down further and it should auto-release. Are you up north? salt? rusty cars? if the pedal is UP but the brakes are still applied, then the cables are rusted /siezed and you will need new cables and rear brake service to have brakes again.

look around the lever for a switch (it presses it when you release the brake) re adjust it or replace it or reconnect the wires (or disconnect them, it will put the light out)

It is located in the trunk on the same side as the fuel door. To get to it you need to pull aside the carpet on that side. When you do you will see a sticker pointing to the reset...I hope this helps.
