Adjust clutch??

WOW. You want to put a 3.9 ltr V6 from a 2001 Dakota into a 1998 Dakota with a 2.5 ltr 4 cylinder? And you want to keep the manual trans? Have you considered what you will be using for a fuel and engine managment system? If you have a wrecked truck as a host vehicle then the changover may work. But it will take patience and a lot of work. I don't think the 4 cylinder trans will bolt up but I am not sure - never tried that. However that light duty trans will probably not handle the torque for very long even if it did bolt up. Your local Auto Salvage Yard will have a changeover guide and be able to tell you if that trans will fit either engine. My recommendation is to swap everthing and change that 98 to a 01, auto trans and everything.
Good Luck
Let me know how it goes?

From what I can gather, it is a hydraulic clutch. To make sure, look for a cable or an extra hydraulic reservoir in the engine compartment near where the clutch pedal is situated..
the solenoid will cause these problems
