My dials on the dashboard don't light up

The lights on the front dashboard don't light up when I turn on the engine. At night I cannot see the speedamator or gas gauge or hot and cold gauge.

SOURCE: The dashboard light does not come on at night

check your dimmer knob, it should be on your left hand side on your dash board, turn on your lights then turn it, if that does not solve the problem check your fuses

SOURCE: No dashboard/odometer lights and no rear lights

just go to the fuse box in the engine compartment and look for the (red 1Oamp) tail light fuse... it might be broken just replace and that should solve your problem.

SOURCE: My car is a 2002

This sounds like an issue with your radiator fan not kicking in. You might have a bad fan relay ... or a dead fan motor. These are both relatively simple parts to repair ... and if you are doing your own repairs, it's pretty easy to figure out which one it is ...
First -- remember that you have to keep safety in mind. Touching live wires in a car's engine can cause serious injury or even death -- so make sure you do these steps in order.
1. Unplug the battery from the electrical system of the car -- this will make sure you don't get shocked while testing your fan. 2. Unplug your fan from the engine and insert 2 wires into the plug and plug it back in (one for positive and one for negative). Make sure that you are using a wire that can handle 12 volts at high amperage. Make sure that the stripped parts of the wires are not going to touch each other, and that they make a connection to the metal inside the plug. (I will refer to these wires as the "bypass wires" for this procedure) 3. Connect your bypass wires to the disconnected ends of your battery cables that you unplugged in step 1. 4. Reconnect the battery cables to the battery one at a time ... as the second wire makes contact with the battery terminal, you should hear the fan kick on. If it turns on, you probably have an issue with the fan relay and not the fan itself. If the fan does not turn on with the bypass wires in place, you most likely have a dead fan motor. 5. Remove the battery cables from the battery again, and then remove the bypass wires. 6. Reconnect the battery cables to the battery terminals and make sure everything is tightened properly.
If you have a bad relay (the fan worked with the bypass) then you should be able to get one form your local auto parts store and replace it. This should resolve the issue. If the fan did not turn on, even with the bypass wires in place, replace the fan motor and you should be good.

SOURCE: my dash lights dont work at all

The tail lights are usually on the same fuse as your dash lights. Check to see if you have tail lights. If they are on and it's only your dash lights that don't work, check the dash dimmer switch for a fault.

My ABS/Brake light in dashboard is on .

I didn't have that issue,but I had a 1992 dakota with
rear abs only & I just unplugged the module under the dash

I'm all for diagnosing everything & having it factory stock & working

But you don't need abs on a 4x4 that old & the rear hydraulic
abs unit ,gets so rusty that it is sad.

If you ever replace rusted brake tubing, remove it

They don't check that in inspection

I have a 2003 Infiniti m45 and every time I turn the headlights on the dashboard lights gets dim what's the problem?

There is nothign wrong with your car-when you turn on the headlights the car believes you are turnung them on because it is dark outside, so it automatically dims your dashboard lights for you (since it now thinks it's nighttime). Your car already has daytime running lights, so you don't need to turn your headlights on in the daytime-they come on automatically when the car is running. You can keep your dash lights dim or bright by adjusting the small black dial on the left side of the dashboard, whether headlights are on or off if you want to.

How can I figure out why fuse 15A keeps blowing? My dashboard lights don't work nor do the back lights. My breaks and signals work but at night when I turn the car on the regular lights in the back...

There is a shorted wire somewhere in that circuit. Check to see if any wires are pinched under a bracket or brace where he was working. I have seen it where it was a light bulb the was bad. Need someone familiar with a volt/ohm meter to help trace problem. Good Luck. You did not state where he had been working.

Dashboard lights are out and rear lights, also a pulling sensation when changing gears especially and a horrible sort of screeching noise when I start the engine!!

You aren't alone with your lights problem . Mu '59 Picanto did exactly the same thing last night. No dashboard, heater, or air vent illumination and worse still no rear lights (note brake lights do work). Got home switched off everything, then switched back on and all working. Very strange.
