Why does my radio stay on when i shut truck off

Was the radio an aftermarket installation? If this is the case, then the power source for the radio is probably on all the time (like the cigarette lighter, for instance). There are power sources that shut off when the key is in the off position. Change to one of those circuits.

This sounds like an ignition switch problem.
The accessory is staying on after it should be off.

Look in your owners manual for how to set your car back to factory defaults, then see if that does the trick. On my 2000 Impala LS if you have your radio on and your key out the switch the radio will shut off when you open the door. You could have a bad switch on your radio but I doubt if that is the problem.

This is actually normal. There is a option in the menu on the dash to turn this off and on

Check your fuses. Whichever one protects the circuits that stay energized when you shut the car off is probably blown; when you shut down the car, the radio's memory is being lost because it is losing power.

Sounds like one power source is missing from the radio. May be blown fuse.

you might find that it has a delay. If not and it is an aftermarket radio you will need to wire it to ingnition "KEY ON" and not direct power.

Mine does to for the it has a power accessory retainment module doing this for you. The new battery may had sparked new life into it for I seen it happen in my Ford truck. Mine did quit years ago and when I installed a new battery it started working again for 15 minutes after shutting of. This is provide that that radio was on at the time shutting off your engine and the doors stays closed. When opening any door the radio should go off automaticly
