It`s a diesel Engine no spark plugs.
More than likely it is your injector seals .They have to be replaced

SOURCE: White Smoke From Tail Pipe/Exhaust

It often means that you are burning antifreeze. You asked if it needs antifreeze, have you noticed any leaking out of the reservoir tank while you are running it? Sometimes when the head gasket goes it will produce a passage for the antifreeze to pass from the capillaries into the combustion chamber. It is easy to check if you have an air compressor. Remove one of the rear sparkplugs and the radiator cap. Fill the radiator and then push some air into the sparkplug hole (get a good seal in case a valve is open). Repeat with all the cylinders and watch for air bubbles coming up into the radiator. If bubbles come up or fluid is pumped out, the head gasket is blown and must be replaced. It is more likely to happen at the back of the engine because it is farthest away from the fan and therefore gets less cooling. Also check your oil for discoloration. If it is a brownish color it could mean your oil and antifreeze are mixing and has the potential to damage your bearings

When I start engine engine noise or knock, white smoke comes out exhaust,

It is actually steam. The head gasket has failed and the knock is either the pistons trying to compress liquid or the oil has been thinned out from the coolant.

What causes white smoke or steam to come out of the exhaust?

white smoke is an indication of coolant in the combustion chamber. I would suggest having a compression test done as there may be a gasket problem or cracked head.

My 01 gmc jimmy made a loud pop and white smoke started blowing out from under the hood. Now it makes a knocking sound but not like its low on oil or inside the motor. I dont have water in my oil and now...

The smoke under hood means that u need replace gasket between exhaust pipe and engine but smoke and knocking is not very good, it looks like your engine pistons has cracks and u r loosing oil by smoke time to time, i'd buy used engine from crashed car with less miles on it

White smoke coming from the muffler, loud noise...

One potential cause is too much gas. It may be running "rich". Your car may also be burning a little oil. White smoke is water or antifreeze. If you are loosing coolant from the radiator, it's probably a blown head gasket. If not, it is just condensation in the exhaust pipe that is evaporating as the pipes heat up. If the car is running too rich, the unburned gas will cause black smoke and burning oil smoke will be blue.

Hope helps (remember rated this).

White smoke from Exhaust

hardly likely the exhaust job would cause that, but yes it sounds like you got a blown head gasket. badl lock stricks hmm! also preasure test cylinder head for leaks

2000 dodge caravan 3.3l engine

Your engine is toast. The black smoke indicates more than likely your valve seals are leaking oil into the combustion chamber or the piston rings are shot.
