SOURCE: 2000 Hyundai Tiburon will not start

There is NO possible electrical cause (within REASON) which would create the problem you describe. I assume you tried the Keyless Entry Remote to DIS-ARM the anti-theft system. If the ALARM system was activated, it will stay activated until it's de-activated by the remote (typical design feature). The best SOLUTION is to take vehicle into Hyundai an have the problem diagnosed.

SOURCE: 2004 hyundai XG-350 Check engine light is on and

Sorry Peter I do not have a solution to your car problem, but I also own a 2004 XG-350 and the SAME EXACT thing is happening to my car right now, crazy huh. Pretty much started out of nowhere...the boyfriend is going to go try the leaving keys in ON position and reconnecting the battery. Did you happen to find out what was wrong with yours, thought maybe if you did it would help save me a step. Praying nothing to serious. Hope you got your car working well again!

Thanks,
Nikki

I have an Acura Cl 3.0 1999. It has drove fine sick I bought it a year ago. I drove to the gas station turned it off, filled up with gas, went to turn it back on and nothing. Only sound is two clicks from...

if it dont crank how would you say the starter is good.
you dont know that. sorry'
making assumptions is the top killer of all diagnosis.
you set in driver seat:
i key on, is the CEL ,charge and BRAKE lamps glowing
if not you lost all power ,12vdc to dash and ignition.
they must glow, if not the battery is drained or a fuse is blow.
check all fuses , now.
if all those normal lamps glow, (warnings) per the operator guide.
the good, you have 12v power.
proceed to cranking..
"as they say, Call the Auto Club time"
the first check, is called a jumper cable jump start off a running car.
if that works, then the starter is good and the battery was ONLY discharged. (no assumptions. see?)

then and only then could you say, starter is good. see?
if the car JUMP passes ,then battery bad or charge system failure....
(ask for help that topic, "my battery is drained, why?"
if the JUMP fails (to other cars battery)
we then hot wire the starter, does starter crank fast and robustly>>?
yes?, then the key line is bad.
no ?, then the starter is bad. or its 2 huge cables are bad.

YES?? starter hot wires good. then? !!!!
see the tricks here,
my guess is this car is A/T tranny, Automatic.

Car will not crank and the timing chain is fine

Well, that's good, but even if the chain was broke, the starter would still be tryiing to start the car. Since your starter wont crank the engine over, your start circuit has a malfunction. Possibly the starter went out, so you need to have that tested for a malfunction. A simple test of part of the circuit is to turn the key to on.. Now your dash warnimg lights (oil, alternator, and check engine light) should be on. Are they on, and your gauges working? If not you have lost power to the ignition switch, so check your battery connections. If the key switch turns the dash on, then turn key to start. Do you hear a click from the engine area? If not, have the starter checked. If you do hear a click, or several clicks, then power from the switch is causing that click, probably at the starter. Turn the headlights on and observe them. Are they bright? If not, charge the battery up. If they are bright, watch them while a helper turns the key to start. If the lights go dim in start, probably a bad starter. If the lights don't dim, it could be a bad connection somewhere, like the battery or starter. Good luck

Car not starting, not turning over, have air and interior lights

Perhaps a bad starter solenoid or starter. If equipped with factory immobilizer, is there a light on your dash constantly on or flashing security?

I got a 1999 chevrolet tahoe. when i put the key in the ignition the head lights, and the dash light comes on but it won't even turn. i change the starter and got a new battery and it still won'

well if you have a dvom/voltmeter check the power at the starter terminals. the main terminal should have power all the time the key wire should have power only when the key is turned to crank engine. if you have power at both then i would start looking at grounds

I have a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT, the key fob doesn't work. I got battery checked, they're fine. Any ideas how to make the key fob work? It has an unlock and a lock button.

Place key in ignition, turn but do not crank up the motor and press the lock/unlock buttons to program it for your vehicle. You should see the lights flash on/off confirming a successful link.

Hyundai Tiburon Won't Start

Possibly the alarm cut-off switch? or Ignition key switch (or wires) going bad?

But you mentioned you tried to jump start it and it did turn over?
IF so, you could have severe corrosion or loose connections of the battery cable both at the battery and at the termination points, such as ground and starter motor.
Check that the battery wires are tight and clean at the battery posts and at the other end.

Again the No lights suggests either the alarm cut-off, or an absolute disconnected battery cable.

Finally, it could be ignition fuse, Check fuses. Ignition key switch.

What makes this hard is that you suggest it would turn over with another battery connected. This makes no sense.

Good luck

98 elantra will not start and headlights dont work

Check that the battery connections are tight and secure. If yes, check the starter motor connectors and check current to the starter while the ignition key is turned. If there is no current, try wiring the starter directly to the battery. If it turns, then the problem is in the wiring or it could be the starter motor fuse. If the starter does not turn, remove the starter and take it to an auto parts store for testing.
