How to bleed clutch master cylinder on a 1995

It takes 2 people. Open the bleeder on the slave cylinder, hold your finger over it while the pedal is pumped, releasing the pressure when the pedal is down.. Once it starts pushing fluid thru, close the bleeder, pump 3 times, open bleeder with pedal down. Repeat till clutch feels good. If you are replacing the master cylinder, bench bleed it 1st. Be patient, this all takes awhile.

There is a small bleeder screw/nipple on the transmission. I ran a short length of hose down into a bottle under the car and opened the bleeder screw a little. It was located on the top and easy to get to on my 97. Start pumping the peddal but watch your fluid, the reservoir will empty really quick.

With a hand held vacuum pump set up. (Silverline Mityvac) is the one I have and I use for everrthing.

If it is a hydraulic clutch, and not cable operated, there will be two cylinders. A clutch master cylinder will be mounted on the firewall next to the brake master cylinder. One steel line will go from the master cylinder down to the slave cylinder bolted onto the transmission housing where the clutch lever extends out of the housing. Other than bleeding the slave cylinder, no adjustments are necessary on hydraulic clutches. Cable operated clutches have an adjusting mechanism to take up slack when the clutch disc wears. The adjuster will be inside the engine bay.

Its sounds like a bad clutch cylinder or bad slave cylinder or fluid leaking. First check brake fluid level in clutch master , and check for a leak in clutch system. If there are NO leaks, then you either have a bad clutch cylinder or a slave cylinder. Bleed clutch at bleeder screw on slave cylinder and make sure there is pressure from master cylinder. If there is pressure then slave cylinder may be bad replace slave and bleed and that should take care of you problem. If master is bad then replace bleed system ad you should be good. there is no bleed valve on the clutch slave, because gravity bleeds it.

slave cyl is sepreate from master cyl you have air in the clutch hydraulic system replace slave and inspect clutch master for leaks on drivers floor board area pull carpet back and make sure to bleed system properly!!!!!!!

the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder are bad relace them starting with the slave cylinder first

if you loosten the slave bleeder screw and push in the clutch pedal fluid should come out if not make sure someone holds down the pedal and tighten the screw then pump the clutch a few times and hold the pedal and open the screw if no fluid repeat a couple of times if still no fluid you need either a new master cylinder or just rebuild it( normally cheaper) and if you rebuild it make sure you flush all the lines of debris
