SOURCE: check engine light reset for 2001 ford escape

On any car 1996 or newer after a repair is made the memory in the computer has to be cleared the light will not go away by itself. The proper way to clear this is with a scanner or code reader but if you dont have any other way unhooking the battery will force the computer to loose all its memory and start all over and the light will go away. If the light returns after a few days you still have a problim.

SOURCE: what is throubleshot p0113 at ford escape 2001

Intake air temperature sensor faulty. Depending on what engine, may be in side of air cleaner or air intake hose , or may be part of the MAF (mass airflow ) sensor. You can try cleaning MAF with tuner cleaner from radio shack or TV repair place.

SOURCE: 2001 Ford Escape, dome light will not go off when

The door switch provides a ground to the dome light... so there is no danger to you if you want to attempt a removal of the switch. A rusted or shorted wire in the door switch (of any door) will keep the dome light on.

2009 Ford Escape won't shift into gear

Check to see if your brake lights are burning as the shift interlock works through the brake light circuit. Could be a simple brake light switch at the pedal or LCM Lighting Control Module relay but as new as it is I would check the brake light switch and its connection.

Why would 2001 Escape fails to start?

Inertia sensor could be tripped cutting off power to the fuel pump. That is if the engine is cranking. Reset button is behind one of the front floor kick panels.

If engine does not crank, check Brake lights. If the lights are out, then a safety switch on the brake pedal lever is loose or broken.

Can't get out of park & instrument panel doesn't work

The solenoid that releases shift lever is powered by the same wire as the Brake Light circuit if it is anything like my Ford Windstar. Same problem for me. It turned out that the wire at the brake light switch was frayed and down to one strand of wire. Not enough current was available to operate both the park solenoid AND the brake lights. The solution was to replace the wire. This is found at the brake lever and bracket area at the switch.

Check to see if you have had your car serviced for the ABS recall. You will want to do this timely as it is a fire hazard.
