SOURCE: 1999 Ford Windstar 3.8 has a major shake in engine

Hi, I recommend you check those IMRC vacuum actuators--are they opening the butterflies inside the lower intake manifold? I bet one side is closed. Also, is your engine light on? Those actuators will usually light the MIL. If the light is on, please get a scan and send us the trouble code.

My 2000 ford windstar shouts down by itself

you might have a vacum leak take a can of starting fluid and spray it around the plenum or big black box on top of engine your van will start to hesitate when it sucks the spray into the engine now you can find the leak a little better or you can take the main vacum line off of the break booster and blow smoke into the hose until you see smoke coming out of the bad spot

I have a 2001 ford windstar with the 3.8L it runs rough and it does not set the checked engine light checked wires and coil and it is still runs rough even in drive

Have you check for vacume leaks. This would make run rough but not set off you check engine light. If no leaks are found might want to change your vacume pump. Located in front of engine where all your vacume lines run to, Looks like a sm filter. This is usually priced less then $10, Good luck to you.

Air not coming thought front vents only from top on 2000 ford windstar

ave you had any recent work done under the hood, or with wiper cowl etc.. reason being there is a main vacuum line that goes to a check valve just left and above belt tensioner that would cause loose of main vacuum to your climate control sysem, and fords fails safe is default to defrost, let me know details or how you make out

more details for location left side by serpinttine belt follow belt back from alternator to the tensioner just left is air inlet housing for climate control system and mounted to it is two vacuum lines on goes through firewall and other comes from engine area

Windstar 2000 no vac at the booster-have great vac at the carb. just have regular brakes , no power brakes. don't believe to have a leak or at least one that I can hear engine runs fine

Check vacum at brake booster if you have vacum there bad brake booster, if you don't follow vacum line check there, vacum line should go to intake, if you do have vacum replace vacum hose.

2001 Ford Windstar

You probably have a vacum line that has broken or come off. with the engine running and the hood up see if you can hear the vacum noise you talked about. If you can spot the problem, turn off the motor and see where it needs to be reconnected or replaced.

My 2000 windstar won't stay idleing

The popping noise you heard earlier was most likely a backfire, and it probably blew some vacum hoses off - this would be the hissing noise. The timing belt suggested by bunnydawg is valid, a slipped timing belt will cause your symptoms.

However, I would get the fuel pressure regulator checked. it has a vacum line going to the manifold. If the diaphram inside the regulator starts leaking, it will result in low fuel pressure, and fuel will leak through the vacum line into the intake manifold - eventually this fuel ignites, like a backfire, but can be much worse - the resulting explosion can crack the manifold itself (hopefully that wasn't what you heard). It's usually fairly easy to check, by pulling the vacum line off off the regulator and checking for either fuel leaking into the line, or leaking out of the vacum port on the regulator itself. Ford recommends checking for a loose vacum line connection at both ends here anyway.

Since you've already had a fuel pump replaced, I hope your mechanic does some stuff for free for you, since he didn't fix the problem. Otherwise I'd look at going to a dealer - more expensive, but much more likely to find the real problem.

Good luck, hope this helps!
