AC in my 2002 grand caravan is not cooling consistently
The AC in my 2002 grand caravan is not cooling consistently. Some days it blows cool and some days it doesn't. Mechanic said freon level is fine. He said it may be a component behind the dash.
Need to check and see if cooling fans are working and working properley at some point wheren the high side gets up about 225-250 they will kick in to a high speed untill the presure drops but the fans will always run when ac is on/also may be to much freon

WHEN HIGH PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE OPENS YOU HAVE TOO MUCH REFRIGERANT IN THE AC SYSTEM OR OVERHEATED CONDENSOR,THE COOLANT FANS NOT WORKING,COULD HAVE BAD COOLING FAN RELAY OR BLOWED FUSE.THE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAULTY NOT TURNING ON THE COOLING FANS TO COOL ENGINE CONDENSOR OR RADIATOR COOLANT.
you should go to a mechanic and check the A/C if the freon id low it won't cool , some time at mornig it give you the semsation that is cooling but probably not..
Check for a loss of freon, if it is low, check for leaks. If the system is not pressureized (ie: low on freon) the computer will not let the compressor or cooling fan activate. If it is not low on pressure, then systematically check each part of the system for operation.
a refurbished compressor should be fine and will be cheaper than new, your should also replace the orfice tube (expansion), and the dryer, and the seals at the connection points.
