Could be the vent door is getting hung up or the turning motor is bad.

SOURCE: 2002 Windstar Knocking or clicking sound from temp control switch

You need a blend door actuator. It's located behind the radio and a/c control head.

SOURCE: When I set my temp

More then likely it's going to be a blend door actuator motor, being there all made out of plastic, listen to where the sound is coming from, thats the bad actuator motor

SOURCE: when the heat is on

the operating mechanism is playing up and may need changing ,it has a vacumn operated control arm and what i thnk is the problem is the diaphragm has split inside the unit so its not opening to allow the hot air to flow over the radiator inside the heater

All my heater vents blow air when heat is on, but only the front gets warm air...all rear vents only blow cold air no matter how you have the heater set...not sure what the problem could be.

there is a diverter valve that lets hot water from the engine into a heater core, which is a device like a small radiator, which heats the air when it flows past. there is probably a second heater core for the rear. the valve for that one, or the switch or relay to control it is bad.

Rear Floor Vent heat only

Sounds like your heater coolant hose door flap is broken or loose. May want to check behind the heater controls, if your components are mechanically operated. If electronically, may need to perform more troubleshooting before replacing this component.

The air has been blowing cold for a long time then the other day it stopped blowing out the front vents. I don't have the owners manual so I need to know the fuse and relay diagram.

sounds like vacum leak you may need to replace heat and air controls on dash or the hoses on back of control may be loose also check hoses under hood that go from engine through firewall may be cracked or just loose

2003 ford expedition front heat and air work, but rear puts out cold when its cold out and heat when its hot out, no matter what setting.

there are 2 blend doors in back on the passenger side rear. one controls heat settings and the other mode floor or upper vents. These go bad and there is usually a clicking noise.

Heating / air conditioning control stuck to front defrost vents

There is a vacuum leak under the hood. Find the vacuum line on the passenger side where it comes through the firewall and follow it to the engine. You system needs vacuum to operate and without it the default setting is on defrost for safety reasons.

Air conditioning

sounds like the linkage in the dash controls are backwards or mislabeled relay was put in vehicle which has opposite properties of which your describeing
locate the control relay and or linkage check this first then replace the control relay cause during the cold months the relay freezes open or shut and then when moisture disapates is creates rust in the relay which gives it a bad point making things reverse
