2001 Volvo V70 XC won't pass state emissions! P0014 and P0172 codes kept registering, and the check engine light appeared intermittently. The Emissions print out said "Not Ready". Last week, engine light/error codes P0275 and P0276 (only these codes), appeared - so the Thermostat and the Turbo Booster (MAP) Sensor (a Bosch part) were replaced, and the check engine light disappeared by itself (was not cleared). I checked once again for error codes, and none were found. I went through emissions (again), and failed (again), and the check engine light came on - again! The second emissions' printout said 'Not Ready' as well, we checked for codes, and found a P0014 (Camshaft Actuator/Sensor) and P0172 (HO2S Oxygen Actuator/Sensor). It was advised that I get an oil change to maybe "take care" of the codes. (Apparently, if the oil is old and sluggish or the level is low, it will trigger a P0014 error code. (I must admit that I was about 1 1/2 months delinquent for an oil change and, about one quart low) Also, I was advised that a P0014 error code is often accompanied by a P0172 (HO2S Oxygen Sensor). So, the rational is that if the oil flow is improved - the Camshaft Actuator and HO2S Oxygen Sensor' should reset themselves - and I will be able to breath a sigh of relief! Is this possible. Help! You need a repair shop to drive the vehicle with a professional
scan tool, for at least 25 miles

That way all the Emissions Monitors will run clear

If you fail to do that, your guaranteed to fail inspection

If any codes come back, then the vehicle has to be component
test & repaired

It sounds as though there was some pushing & poking, done by
I assume, a shop & parts changed, tested or in need of replacing,
who knows

You also will have freeze frame data at the time the codes are set,
to help with the diagnoses,IF-- you have a good shop to work on it,
so far that doesn't appear to be the case

I don't buy your hopeful rational --IF-- the oil has not been changed
(often)over the life of the motor, wrong oil used or the cam actuators
have failed,as is sort of where all this conversation has gone or
explained to you

If the cam timing is not correct, then yes, the oxygen sensor codes
may set- BUT- I don't buy the fact they go away & never come back

We could be here a long time,so I suggest you keep your line of
questions going at a repair shop. Their not wrong or far off,you just
need to understand how things work together in a motor or maybe
not play well with other parts under certain conditions

SOURCE: 2001 toyota corolla check engine

Mass Air Flow sensor! Just remove your air filter cover. Go to Auto Zone and purchase some solvent. Spray past the air filter and it should correct the problem. If not, replace the Mass air-flow sensor. This is commonly mistaken for an oxygen sensor. Mine did this and I followed these steps and it fixed the light. BTW, the light stayed on for 5 years before I fixed it. Never hurt anything. It's normally something to do with emissions. Dummy lights. :)

SOURCE: 1999 volvo wagon won't pass

P0600 is the loss of serial communication link. Generally this is a problem with the wiring in the OBD-II or between the ECU and the connector. Of these is a fault in the ECU. Do you recive any other codes?

How do you fix trouble code for 2001 volvo v70 xc control module?

What was the code number? If the engine light didn't come on then it may have rectified itself and there really isn't a problem. Put the code reader on again and see if there is still a code in the memory.

I have a volvo v70 2001. The fuel door won't open. I thought there was a way to open it from inside the car, but I am having trouble.

There is. V70 means it is a wagon so it is going to be on the same side as the fuel door inside of the car. The handle is usually yellow or a neon green. Check where the jack is kept.

My blower on my 1998 volvo v70 xc is not blowing

The most common problem is either the blower motor or the speed control resistor. Both items can be accessed by removing the glove box and panel below it.
