Its located at the back of the engine near the firewall. it has a large hose connected to it(3/8") if I remember right. it is attached to top of the PCV valve. pull the hose off then you can pull the valve out of the rubber grommet that holds it into the engine.

SOURCE: odometer on 1991 ford ltd

Hi. I am assumming that the speedometer is still working. If that is the case, it's the vehicle speed sensor that is failing. The vehicle speed sensor, which is mounted in the transmission, creates an electrical signal that is used by both the vehicle’s engine computer, speed & odometer. Failure of this sensor is not uncommon, is not costly and is easily replaced. It would be best to take your vehicle to the repair facility when the problem is occurring. This allows diagnosis to confirm the need of the parts being replaced.

SOURCE: Would you please let me know where the PVC valve

The Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve is in the valve cover. It sticks up a bit, and has a hose running to it.

Pcv valve poping out

Sounds like high crankcase pressure probably caused by blowby. You didn't say how many miles but rings may be worn enough to allow pressure to pass by them.
