What is the torque on the the rockarms, push rods
SOURCE: Which side of the motor on a 3.1 buick 1998
That is a V6 or V8 standard mounted engine. When they say intake side and exhaust side they are talking about the valves. Typically each cylinder has 2 valves the front valve is the intake the back valve is the exhaust. If you haven't already gotten it I highly recommend you get the Haynes or Chilton's repair manual from your vehicle so you have the adjustment specs or priming procedure if you have hydraulic lifters.

Tightening sequence would be to tighten from the center most bolts to the outer most bolts.
Intake Upper Bolts = 18 lb.ft.
Intake Lower Bolts = 10 lb.ft.
Exhaust Manifold Nut = 12 lb.ft
Exhaust Manifold pipe = 22 lb.ft.
Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield = 18 lb.in.
Rocker Arm Torque Nuts = 18 lb.ft.
Hope this helped you ?? if you need more info, get back to me.....
SOURCE: mixed up the push rods
Hi.
The intake and exhaust push rods are slightly different lengths. The exhaust push rods are the longest ones.
The torque for the rocker arms bolt is 14 N-m plus 30 degrees for both 3.1 and 3.4 engines.
The comment applies to 1997-2002 3.1 and 3.4 engines.
Regards.
Ginko
Here all the diagrams for the V6 engine.
