Trouble shooting P0603 for 98 aurora is this why

Code P0603 means that the PCM's Keep Alive Memory (KAM) self test is failing. This is a routine self test that is performed periodically through out the day. This is critical because the PCM's Keep Alive Memory Modules store all of the PCM's adaptive calculations that need to be 'kept alive' or saved when the vehicle isn't operating. If this part of the PCM's functionality is unreliable, the powertrain's main computer can't be trusted to accurately do its job and may need to be replaced.

Failed ecm p0603

Instead of guessing as to what the problem is or expecting someone on here having a magical fix , take it to a qualified repair shop. Before assuming the worst an wanting to condem the PCM - powertrain control module . Will a scan tool communicate with it ? If your pulling codes it is .
DTC P0603 Control Module Long Term Memory Reset
The PCM has a memory area where it stores certain data it needs to save when the key is turned OFF. This area is called Keep Alive Memory. This diagnostic test monitors the PCM's keep alive memory for a loss or unintended change of data. If such a condition occurs, DTC P0603 will set.
Diagnostic Aids
If the battery has been disconnected for any reason DTC P0603 will set. The PCM keeps a running check on the memory; if memory changes it resets. An intermittent loss of power or ground to the PCM will cause a reset.

Have you disconnected the battery ?

I have a 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora my taglights dont work already have replaced the bulbs still no good so where is the fuse located in the fuse box for the taglights

The 1998 Aurora has 2 fusebox locations...a larger fusebox under the passenger side of the hood, (unscrew the large turnhandle in the center of the box to open) which contains the larger fuses, a fuse puller, and the relays. There is also a fusebox on the interior of the passenger side...open the passenger door all the way up, and look at the side of the console panel, between the glovebox and the door. There should be a "finger hole" for you to pull open. It may be VERY hard to get open; mine is. Here you will find the smaller fuses. A diagram of the contents are on the inside of both lids.
Thank you for using fixya and good luck.
