OBDII codes imply that I have a fuel system problem, but my fuel mileage has not declined, and I see or smell no fuel leaks. What do I check now?

Fuel Trim, Bank1 Malfunction
Basically you need a new oxygen sensor, The fuel trim code is from the computer trying to adjust the fuel/Air mixture to compensate for the bad signal from the sensor. Just change the one closer to the engine, the one behind the Catalytic converter will thow a different code when it fails.
SOURCE: just got there codes for my 2000 323 and it didebt
p1188: Fuel Control (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
p1189: Fuel Control (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
p0171 and p0173: These are very common codes on BMW's which can also be false codes, try
clearing the codes and run the test again they may not come up again.
p1250: Never came across that....

These codes will have to be cleared and the car driven through a drive cycle, maybe a couple of times, is the check engine light off? Also you should check your MAF sensor it may need to be cleaned or replaced and makes sure there are no holes in your intake tubing. Hope this helps, let me know.
SOURCE: la computadora me da esos codigos
los tres codigos hacen referencia a malfuncion en control de combustible , pero si aparecen los tres a la vez es muy probable debido a filtro de gasolina sucio

James,
Based on the numerous codes and others who have experienced many of these problems, I would say you have a vacuum leak near the intake. I would also clean my DISA and ICV as well.
Please buy a Peake code reader (No..I don't sell them but I can vouch that they save time and money in the long run. A generic code reader will have you throwing thousands of dollars into repairing your car that aren't needed.). The Peake code reader is BMW specific and gives a more detailed result because the reader scans BMW specific codes that a generic OBD 2 reader can't.
This guy has an excellent video on how to clean your ICV and I think he has one on the DISA (which is next to the ICV):

Hope this helps!
