Its located in the air intake hose between the air filter and the intake. on some they are mounted in the top of the intake by the throttle body held in with 2 -4 screws.

SOURCE: location of a o2 sensor 2001 nissan maxima

bank 1 refers to the side of the engine that #1 cylinder is on , and sensor 2 refers to downstream , after the catalytic converter. , this link shows bank 1 on a 2001 nissan maxima V6 being on the firewall side . if you had a 4 cylinder it would be downstream after the catalytic converter .

Will the bad mass airflow sensor make a car stall when u excelerate. ...2000 nissan maxima

I can not say for certain on a Nissan but on American vehicles there is a separate table in the computer that the engine would run off of called the Volumetric Efficiency table that is a back up to the MAF sensor. I would think that because the computer systems are supposed to work pretty close to the same that it shouldn't do that. If the stalling started happening at the same time the check engine light came on to warn you about a bad MAF sensor then it stands to reason they could be related. Since the MAF works by measuring the resistance in a wire and if that wire gets dirty it will throw a code saying it isn't working right. The first thing I would try would be to look at the sensor where the air goes through it and see if you see a broken thin wire. If not go to the auto parts store and get a can of Mass Airflow sensor cleaner and hose it down. Unhook the battery and sensor while doing this then hook everything back up and see if the problem goes away if not the sensor is probably messed up internally.

1995 Maxima stalls, what could be the problem. Vehicle hesitates and jerks upon acceleration then stalls at stop lights.

check ur MAF sensor (Mass Air Flow) make sure there is no condensation rust on it, just a little bit will cause it to malfunction...soft brush on the sensor itself to clean it up..try that, worked for me.

My maxima is dumping a lot of fuel in the system

would need more info but nine times out of ten afuel trim issue on these vehicles is due to an inaccurate mass airflow sensor.dry aftermarket air filters wreak havoc on these...the small paper fibers stick to the sensor element.so if this is your problem i would recommend using genuine nissan air filter and also your ecm will need to be reprogrammed by dealer for replacement countermeasure mass airflow sensor.you can try cleaning the sensor but i personally have had little to no success.

95 nissan maxima 3.0. have replaced knock sensor

I would have the charging system checked for over-voltage and AC ripple. There maybe a hidden wire harness problem if the charging system is okay. Wiggle test the wire harness while the engine is running to help locate the problem area. That is way to many parts replaced.

How do I replace the mass airflow sensor on a 2004 Maxima?

The mass air flow sensor will be in the air intake going to the throttle body. Look for a 3-4" hose, trace that back to a box looking component. The sensor should be in there.

Where is coolant temp sensor and knock sensor on 95 nissan maxima

Mine usually stalled coming out the driveway. I went thru replacement of 6 coils and plugs with almost no improvement on my 2000 maxima. Ultimately the mass air flow sensor was replaced. All the engine codes from check engine light would make you think the engine needs overhaul, due to the nature of resultant bad engine performance. You can buy maf sensor $100 online. 5 minutes to install it. I tried cleaning it, but it made no difference until I replaced it. After that it was like 50 more horsepower.

My Nissan 99' is starting to hestitate and ****

The mass Air flow sensor is a good hit. Yes, it happens to alot of people. The maf tellsthe computer how much air is passing through the intake and in turn the computer provides the fuel needed proportionately. The less air, the less fuel. So, if the sensor if dirty and inaccurate the vehicle will run poorly and stall. The maf does get dirty and cleaning is a psrt of a tune up. Good Luck. Ned
