Hi
The only way to obtain the code is to speak to a car radio specialist ,take the car or radio to a ford dealer but before that I would check the book pack that came with the car if it has one as the radio code is on a sticker inside the radio booklet
I please could someone help me out I am trying to obtain a Key code for my Landrover Visteon CD Player. Visteon Model: 6500 CD-EUROPE Part: 2CFF-18C838-AB Serial: M065510 Any help would be much appreciated Thanks
Go to carhelpsite.com it is free as long as you click on 2 of the ads at the website then your questions will be answered by an ASE certified mechanic, you don't have to buy or fill out anything on the ads,so help keep the site free.
I had the same problem! All you do is call your closest Jaguar dealer and give them the serial # that is under the radio(so you have to remove the radio) they did it over the phone for me and they will give you the code, it's usually gonna be a 1- 6 combo cause thats the numbers for programming if you notice.
Your radio is probably showing up SAFE in the display because you disconnected the power supply. On this particular vehicle you have to re enter a security code to get the radio to work again.
You may find you have this security code somewhere in your service documentation or owners manuals if you have them. From the factory it is printed on a small card which often gets lost as the vehicle changes hands.
If you have lost thos code you can only obtain the code from a dealer by
1) Removing the stereo and getting the serial no that is stamped or printed on the back of it
2) Bringing this serial along with your cars VIN identifier (Chassis no) to a VW dealer who will run the numbers and give you the code you need to unlock the stereo.
If you don't want to spend the 135, find out the name of the dealer who origonally sold the car when new. They should have the code on file form the pre inspection that they did. It is a myth that there is a code inside the trunk or on the radio, so don't waste your time looking.
