Read manual, but mainly you may take it to autozone ir equivalent and they will support reading the code. The owners manual says if Steady Light it is related to monitor fuel, ignition and emissions, sometimes a misplaced gas cap or if you changed gas octanage may cause the light on. If light is flashing it is a little bit more serious problem as misfires that can damag eengine

All the service soon light means is what it says, a service is due . check the drivers manual against the mileage, that is the service that should be performed. The mechanic will reset the light ,it will come on again when the next service is due.

I think the service light is interval based, and not actually measuring the state of oil/filters etc. a odb2 tool should be able to reset it

Did you put a multimeter on the coil and check for voltage coming out of the coil? To do this put the ground lead of the meter on the battery ground, then turn the ignition on and touch the positive lead of the meter to the coil. It should read around 12 volts.

It's possible that you have them improperly gaped causing a Firing problem, Or it could just be a coincidence that the light came on when you made the plug change. There are a lot of potential problems. Check the Firing order, Check the Plug Gap. Check to make sure the wires are all properly connected.

Service engine soon light

The service engine soon could be an indicator that you need to have minor maintenance done in the near future. I had a Grand Am that the service engine light would turn on when I was getting close to needing an oil change. You might check your owners manual for an exact reason as to why it turns on.

Service engine soon light is on and it has new air filter, spark plugs, spark plugs wires, pcv valve and oil change

just because the engine light is on dont mean there is a thing wrong with you car some auto car manufactures will use a timer module to tell you that your car is in need of a check up. but just to make sure there are no problems you can take your car to any auto parts store and they will scan it for free and tell you if the computer has any stored codes that may or may not be a issue. in your owners manual there should be instructions on how to reset the time that the service engine soon light will come on.

I changed spark plugs and wires and now the Service Engine Soon light comes on?

The check engine/service engine soon light comes only when the computer control unit (called the PCM) senses a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system, there are about 200 possible faults that turn the light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen and Autozone parts stores do this testing for free.

Check Engine Light came on while driving. No

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The check engine light is on because ECM (Control Module) detected a fault with your car's system. ECM has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with some of the components it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" light to tell you that there is a problem and your car needs to be looked at. You'll need to get the codes checked from a nearby dealer/mechanic. Please revert with the codes so that I can tell you where exactly the issue is.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
