Let it cycle the therm state a few times w motor running and cap off....there is a bleeder valve on the upper hose above the serpentine belt..make sure to take that out to relieve any air stuck in hose/pipe

SOURCE: 2003 jeep liberty air bag light on is it easy to fix

The system needs to be checked for cades. Airbag codes are pulled out of the ECU with the use of a scanner tool. A good auto mechanic shop will have this or you can go to the dealer. YOU SHOULD NOT TRY TO REPAIR THIS YOURSELF,YOU COULD ACTIVATE THE AIRBAG!!!!!

SOURCE: 2003 Jeep liberty

There are lots of reasons for a car to over heat. To say why in particular in your case is a vague question and vague answer.

If you are not capable of working on the vehicle and diagnosing it you probably should take it to a shop.

The following are possible reasons for your Jeep overheating:
1. Bad radiator fan/clutch
2. Clogged radiator.
3. Low antifreeze level
4. Waterpump leaking
5. Faulty Radiator Fan Relay
6. Failed Thermostat
7. Bad coolant temp sensor
8. Clogged antifreeze resovoir tube
9. The list goes on and on....

It's best to get it diagnosed by a professional

Does it look like coolant leaking? Same color? If so, it could be. That or the water pump. Go for the thermostat first. They are more common to go out. It would explain the lost in heat.
