Is the bolt right hand thread , ( loosens when turned anti **** wise ) or left hand thread , ( loosens when turned clock wise )
SOURCE: replacing timing belt and/or water pump
i can answer part of that... have someone put pressure hard on the serpentine belt while you turn the bolt.... likewise if you have access to the timing belt tho i would be careful with that so the timing does not shift. after you get the bolt out you will need a puller for it too. carefull as well when you install the new one to match up the groove on the crankshaft with the pully or you'll never have the timing right.

You may have a reverse thread confirm by disconect coil wire or power plug to distributor and have an assistant turn the motor over while you observe standing in the front of the vehicle to determine crank pulley directional rotation, if when standing in the front of vehicle the rotation is counterclock wise the bolt unscrews counterclock wise (the usual) if the rotation is clockwise it is a reverse thread.

The crankshaft pulley bolt loosens by turning Counter-Clockwise. Ensure the pulley is secure from movement so that you can loosen the pulley bolt without turning over the engine. You may need to use breaker bar to loosen the pulley bolt, or at least a large wrench.
