Hi Anonymous, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? I need to know if the engine was running very hot when it quit and if you were able to smell the smoke and what did it smell like.

It could be a lot of things. Check your fluids-antifreeze, oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid. If they are at their appropriate levels, you may have an electrical problem. If you blew your engine, the oil level might be empty. Also check to see if you have water in your oil.

It sounds very much like a fusible link has fried, search around for a fuse that looks like it's been hot, or if you can't have a auto electrician take a look at it, hope this helps

SOURCE: "Check Engine light"

The issue is that the system randomly checks the loop of the fuel system to confirm that it has no leaks. A missing cap is the easy one to correct. It might also be a slpit in the rubber hose that connects the fuel fill tube (on the chassis) to the one on the tank, or any other hose in the the entire fuel delivery/ fume recovery sysrtem. The solenoid that allows the engine's vacuum to be used to conduct this test can also be sticking so that after the test cycle, it doesn't reclose. Good luck

Car wont start back up

Hi, It could well be the fuel pump and componants. But to get at it you will have to lower the gas tank . DO NOT SMOKE or use any metal tools when opening the tank. (expossion will occure) I would advise that you have someone help you with this if you do it yourself. Good luck

Coil want spark on pt cruiser

When you have no spark at the coil,Then coil needs power from ignition which is supplied by the ASD relay, you also need a ground signal this is from the PCM,which recieves its input from the cranksensor, which is located, under the starter,Check for open fuses especially ignition fuse, and make sure the harness to the crank sensor is good,

PT Cruiser 2003 died while driving, no spark from new coil

Hello, I hear that pt quit while driving and you heard a thump, and you replaced the battery and coil and still no fire. Well it sounds like you have timing belt that broke it will keep it from firing at the coil if broke. Remove oil fill have someone spin engine over and see if camshaft turns if not turning the belt is broken. Please rate this answer, Thank you.
