My 2003 pt cruiser started smoking under the hood while I was driving then cut off and now won't start. Please help. Ashley 4173310862
It could be a lot of things. Check your fluids-antifreeze, oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid. If they are at their appropriate levels, you may have an electrical problem. If you blew your engine, the oil level might be empty. Also check to see if you have water in your oil.
It sounds very much like a fusible link has fried, search around for a fuse that looks like it's been hot, or if you can't have a auto electrician take a look at it, hope this helps

The issue is that the system randomly checks the loop of the fuel system to confirm that it has no leaks. A missing cap is the easy one to correct. It might also be a slpit in the rubber hose that connects the fuel fill tube (on the chassis) to the one on the tank, or any other hose in the the entire fuel delivery/ fume recovery sysrtem. The solenoid that allows the engine's vacuum to be used to conduct this test can also be sticking so that after the test cycle, it doesn't reclose. Good luck

Hi Anonymous, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? I need to know if the engine was running very hot when it quit and if you were able to smell the smoke and what did it smell like.
