SOURCE: how tight do i torque the spark plugs on a scion

If you do not have a torque wrench, as tight as you can get them holding a 3/8 drive ratchet with the extension between your index and middle finger and your thumb all the way over the top of the ratchet. This yields about 20 foot pounds unless your are a freak of nature.

Is there a spark plug gap in a 2006 scion xa

depends on what kind of spark plugs you buy, some do others do not, I use the kind that does not need to be gapped

Remove and replace scion xa waterpump

If the water pump is leaking, the next logical step to fix the problem is to replace it. There are no serviceable parts in the water pump. They wear out at the shaft or leak at the gaskets, and are considered to be a common problem to require replacement on cars.

My tc won't turn over. Power is good and the starter cranks but not the motor. Im thinking the plugs need replacing or can it b the alt?

It's not the alternator, as the car can start and run with battery power alone for a period of time.
Check the condition of the plugs and wires if they are suspect, then check for proper spark and proper fuel pressure and activity of the fuel injectors. If nothing else works, check the engine compression.

How do you change spark plugs?

Hi my name is Tom and I can help you.

There is information that you must get when you pick up the spark plugs at the store. Ask the auto parts clerk what the plug gab is for your car. He will be happy to give you the info. If not go to a different store. You might ask him for a feeler gage. This tool is used to show the gap on the plugs.

Come home and open the engine department of the car. Take the wire off any spark plug using a spark plug wrench. Check the gap using the feeler gage.
Replace the wire onto the new plug. Repeat with the remaining plugs and wires

I trust that this is enough info for you to change the plugs. If not, I am more than willing to help you further.

Sincerely
Tom

Spark plugs

Need more info! Which engine do you have?? I would guess at a quad engine since you can see the V-6 plugs!! There is a cover that says QUAD 4 on it. There are 4 bolts that hold the cover down that need to come out, and 4 connectors that are the plug wires that need to come off, then you can change the plugs. On the older quad engines, the plugs were known for pulling the treads out of the cylinder head! If you have a plug that is exceptionally tight, don't remove it unless you know what your doing! It can result in cylinder head replacement!! Good luck!!
