My 2000 jimmy has heat problems. the heat goes from cold to hot to warm to cold etc. what could the problem be?

I replaced the thermostat because jimmy was blowing nothing but cold air when heat and/or defrosters were turned on. now the truck blows hot then warm then cool(not cold) air then back to hot(but not real hot). What could the problem be?

If the temp gauge is now more stable, the problem is in your heater system, not the engine cooling system.

Your heater core is likely clogged up. This is a common problem on older Jimmies.

When really cold no heat indication

It sounds like your thermostat is probably stuck open, replacing it should solve your problem.

We live in a cold climate. Our 1998 GMC Jimmy Heater will not provide cabin heat. The engine warms normally. We replaced the thermostat just to make sure the coolant was warm enough. The blower operates...

UNHOOK BOTH HEATER HOSES AND FLUSH OUT HEATER CORE
DO IT FOWARD AND BACK FLUSH / COVER DIST. CAP OR YOU WILL
FILL IT WITH WATER / IF IT CLEARS OUT HOOK HOSES BACK UP AND
BLEED AIR OUT OF SYSTEM / IF IT DOES'T CLEAR OUT HEATER CORE
WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED (DASH COMES OUT TO DO HEATER CORE)

Why my heater in 2000 plymouth breeze only gives a little heat? Could it be a hose ? I know it's not the thermostat, the blowers ar working. I am wonding if theres some hoses that could be leaking?I don't...

it could be the cold air blend door or the thermostat is the engine temp up to the middle of the gauge or close to it if so then thermostat is ok if not then go ahead and replace it.

200 gmc jimmy st heater

Had similar problem in my 2000 Jimmy. No hot air from heater. Had the shop (Midas) disconnect heater hoses at the fire wall and blow out the heater core with air hose. Got rust and junk blown out. Hooked up and flushed system with new anti freeze. Got lots of heat now.
