Most VIN numbers are a lot longer than that.
It is possible that it is an engine serial number, but they are (or used to be) stamped into a flat spot on the block near the area where the bell housing bolts on.

I sure would NOT be thinking of purchasing a vehicle if that was the only number presented as proof of the identity of the vehicle.

The only part of the motor home that ford provided was the cab and chassis. the 10 didgit in the vin number denotes year of vehicle. the vin on the dr door should match the vin on the dash.

well the only way u can find that out is to get the vin number of your car and go into a local queensland transport and ask if your car has had this motor all along dosent matter who has had it or wenever it was regersterd it will always be the same vin so they can look it up
