SOURCE: how to replace windshield wiper motor in

should be fairly simple. mark the wipers position while they are off for reinstallation. remove the wiper arms by taking the nuts off the bottom side, and gently pry up on them and work them loose. with the hood up, remove the wiper cowl (plastic that runs along the bottom of the windshield). the wiper motor will be on the drivers side. the wiper linkage usually either bolts on directly to the motor shaft with one bolt. take that bolt/nut off, remove the mounting bolts on the motor itself, unplug the motor and remove. to install reverse process and put wiper arms back to the position you marked them.

You can replace the nut with a locking style nut. Your local hardware store should be able to provide you with one.
You can also purchace a small tube of "lock-tight" (brand name) that you apply to the threads then tighten the nut. Once the lock tight has dried, the nut will not come loose.
Good luck.

Windshield wipers keep hitting each other. Driver side wont go all the way up. I replaced the Wiper transmission assy. but that did not fix the problem. Motor spins all the way around.

So why was the trans replaced the first time. The arm on the motor is supposed to go around. If the wiper arms are installed correctly, all should be OK. Is there any slop in the linkage?

Rear window wiper works for a few days or weeks

Check the plug is completely plugged into the motor. Maybe a bad connection in the motor itself. Also check the switch, try wiggling it when turning on.

possibly, but the most common problem is the engagement motor located on the rear of the transfer case. Motor looks like small wiper motor and can be replace fairly easily.

My front wipers stand straight up when turned off,is it the wiper motor or something else?

Its just the wiper motor if your using your wiper and you want to turn off the wiper wait until the wiper go back to its original position then turn off the wiper as fast as you can so it will not stand out when you turn it off or you can replace the motor of the wiper.
