Can drive for about 200 miles then it would just die then start back up and drive for awhile till it does it again
Replace your crank position sensor it is over heating causes the ignition to loose spark after it cools down it will start working again. this will only go for a few more times then it will stall and will not restart.
First does check engine light come on? if so go to parts store and run codes. then I would check ignition module on it first . take in have tested, then maff sensor. possibly crank position sensor getting weak, cam position sensor. this is assuming you change air and fuel filters in a timely manner. this is similar to problem I had but it was about 50 miles then would buck and then die(not right away). ended up being crank position sensor. coils if bad will work till heated up then die, till cooled down then repeat.but if its running then just die and start up and go again I would say maff sensor.
At best, this would really be hard to find, since you can drive it hours before it happens. You could start by pulling all the fuses one at a time check them and put them back in. This gets rid of corrosion contact problems. You can also do the to all the plugs. Sounds like you have a heat up problem. Some thing in the electrical system is getting hot and loosing contact. Things that would kill the engine would be , the ignition switch, the map sensor, the mass air flow sensor, And the engine control module. Parts inside of these can heat up enough to loose contact. Your's is going to be a hard one to find. Until the part completely dies.

You may have a fuel leak. when there is odor of gas there ia a leak somewhere. Pop the hood and check with your nose where the smell is coming from. Once you isolate the location of the odor check with your hands. if your hand is wet and smells of gas you have found the leak. Next get a mirror to see if you can replace the hose yorself. In some cases due to the age of the car and since most fuel lines are made of rubber, after some time they can become corrosive and start to leak. Check the fuel lines. If the smell is entering your cab while you drive the problem is in the front of the car due to the fact that as you drive the rushing air will cause the odors to dissipate. Good Luck!!!

It's got all the symptoms of a leak in the fuel line. You may want to start backward at the tank and work your way all the way to the carb to find it but it would be surprising if it was something else. All the best.

sounds like ur alternator has gone out, check ur charging system it should be 13.50 to 14.25 if its not in this range replace alterntor and harness NAPA ofers this harness,,, check battery and conections as u change alternator and charge battery up with a slow 2 amp slow charge could take 24 hours but battery needs to have a good deep charge after being drained

It sure sounds like a bad Thick Film Ignition (TFI) module to me. (Also called Ignition Control Module) It mounts to the side of the distributor. You need a special socket to get the screws out of it. The socket and the module should cost less than $50 at most retail parts stores.
