Hello I have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler 6cyl. I was driving it today and there was some play in the clutch pedal, it went and stayed to the floor as if it lost pressure. I was able to get it home and now there is no pressure at all. I have bled it, and nothing. I cant shift into any gears due to the clutch. Could it be a master or slave cyl. gone out? Please help, Thank you.
The master cyl. isnt leaking, and is full. There are no leaks anywhere. When I got home and checked the fluid in it (After it happened) there was still fluid in it.The master cyl. isnt leaking, and is full. There are no leaks anywhere. There is no fluid leaking from anywhere. When I made it home (After this happened) I checked the fluid in the master cyl, and it still had fluid in it. I hope it's something like that, easy to get to. I'd hate to drop the tranny if it where the slave lol. There is no fluid leaking from anywhere. Well... I put a new master cylinder on it today, and bled it and it is still doing the same thing. The guy at AutoZone told me that the Master and Slave work simultaneously and that usually when one goes, so does the other. I figured it would be the Throwout Bearing, but there would still be clutch, just wouldnt be able to shift. I still have no clutch so I figure it's gotta be the slave as well. I hope.Well... I'm thinking clutch master cylinder. If it is that then fortunately it's usually easier to get to. Good luckI'm thinking clutch master cylinder. If it is that then fortunately it's usually easier to get to. Good luck

I think this will help you, have someone pump the pedal several times then hold pedal to the floor while you loosen the bleed screw at the end of the line and after a second tighten the bleed screw then pump pedal, continue this until only clear dot3 fluid without bubbles comes out. Take care
pump up clutch pedal really fast about ten times....leave it held to floor....open bleeder on slave cyl... repeat untill you have good pedal....may need to adjust master cyl. rod on clutch pedal to get more travel....good luck....Lee
the first thing that i would check is the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder. It is just like the brake system. When there is not enough fluid or if there is air in the system this can cause the pedal to go to the floor. If this is ok then a portion of the clutch MIGHT have went out. Let me know if the hydraulics are ok.
Likely, you have a hydraulic clutch system. Check clutch master cylijnder for fluid and leakage, check hydraulic line and slave cylinder for leaks. If fluid low or empty, bleed as you would a brake wheel cylinder. If full, have someone work the clutch while you watch slave cylinder to make sure it is moving clutch fork. If system full and little or no movement, the master may be "bypassing" internally (replace) Also, check pedal mechanical linkage. Not often but sometimes these parts can break! Could also be athat clutch itself is worn, but this does not happen overnight and you would have noted slip long before this!
