Went out to start my 2005 Ram and battery was very dead, would not take a jump. When I charge the battery, I get headlights back but no start. I disconnected the charger, and the next morning the battery is dead again. When I turn on the headlights I get a pulsed beep about once per second. Security light and odometer LED flashes at same time. Keyless entry seems to work fine.

sound like battery has weak or battery terminals and post need cleaning. have battery charged and checked, if battery good. alternator not charging battery. if battery over 5 years old more likely battery is bad.if battery too weak head lights wont turn on battery dead this time of year if battery old. cold weather will finish it out.
Your alternator is not charging the Battery, I would replace the battery with a new gel battery and have the alternator checked, bets on your battery just died.
Sound like the alternator went bad and is no longer charging.
Are the headlights dim?
Have you tried jump starting?
Have you measured battery voltage while you try to crank it over? If it drops below 12 volts the battery is dead.
If it starts with a jump you should see around 14 volts at the battery with the vehicle running. If you see less the alternator is no longer charging.
sounds like alternator may not be charging check voltage at battery while engine is running need to see at least 13.1 volts if not have alternator checked and or replaced
FULLY CHARGE BATTERY BEFORE USING.If you dont you will burn out the alt. within minutes.
Does the new alt have all the same connections as old one?
After charging bat and installing new alt. typical battery load test and alt. output test should tell if there may be other problems.
Always clean the battery terminals before jumping. An extremely dead battery may not accept a jump as it serves as a 'buffer" instead of helping. If you do get it started, charge battery with a battery charger then have alternator and battery tested for proper operation and check belt condition and tension as well.
