Once the problem is repaired and the code is erased by using a scanner or code reader, the warning light should stay off.

If you cycled the key, and came up with only -------- done then you have no stored/active codes. There is no need to reset the computer, but if you still want to, you can disconnect the battery and touch the positive and negative cables together for 10 seconds. this will discharge the pcm's capacitors, ON A DIESEL BE SURE TO DISCONNECT BOTH BATTERIES!

Only two choices, 1 - disconnect the battery for 1/2 an hour, however if there is a problem the code will return. 2 - get a code scanner and figure out which sensor is giving the fault code and why? then fix the issue.

you can disconnect the baterry for one minute or trake the truck to an advance or autozone and they will reset the light for you. If the light stays on or comes back on you usually have a code and a problem present
