Somehow my camshafts were moved while replacing timing belt. Best way to recover? 96 Sebring jxi 2.5 v6 HELP!!!!

the engine has been identified as an intereference engine and that means every possibility of valve damage
to recover , loosen of the valve adjusters or loosen of the cam shaft caps so that the valves are all closed before you rotate the crankshaft to TDC
then reset the cam shaft/s timing marks and do it all back up and hope that no valves are bent

2002 chrysler sebring how to set correct time

The only way to set correct time is by putting the marks on the crank and cam gears in line with the marks on the timing housing or block. Other then that there is no way to adjust timing.

I need the timing guide for a 1998 chysler minivan, 3.0

The crankshaft gear marks will line up like 2 triangles pointed at each other, one on the gear one on the block. The cam gears line up to each other, draw a line in-between them, one mark pointing at the other, no marks on the block just the 2 gears lined up to each other. You will need a 1/8 inch and a 6mm allen to adjust the tensioner pulley, You push the 1/8 allen into the pulley and then use a 6mm to turn the tensioner counterclockwise until it locks in position.

Need to now where timing marks are located on 1997 chrysler sebring coupe 2.5Ljust replaced waterpump & timing belt and car will not start I didnot turn crank or cams when rplacing belt

Hello carolnaes: My name is Roger and I will help. The picture of the timing marks are attached. I will caution though that Mitchell repair calls this a interference motor. Meaning if the engine turns over with the belt off. The valves of the engine can and may be damaged. I also checked All Data and they said it could possible cause valve damage. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the quality of your answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger39f6dc5.jpg

Crank sensor and camshaft sensor

The crank sensor is in the top of bell housing of the transmission towards the back of the engine compartment. The cam sensor is built into the distributor.
