Why can't i start my 93 corolla and get shifter to move out of park
SOURCE: Shifter issue?
Hi their.Yes there is a place that's not to hard to adjust. Underneath the truck on drives side there is an adjustment there.Make sure nothing was broke in the slamming on the shifter..

First thing to check is the brake light fuse and the brake light switch.Have a look to verify that the brake lights do or do not come on.If they do come on then i would be checking the wiring to the plug on the brake light switch. If you find nothing wrong there the listen for a click down under the dash, that will be a solenoid that actually does the releasing for you if there is no noise then you will need to get the park switch tested.

Check to see if its stop light switch ,as third is a main cause of this sort of problem ,but also it could be the solonoid on top of the shifter thats down so use a multi meter to see if you have power to the solonoid and if no power then check for power to and out of the brake light switch

there is a release solenoid triggered by a brake switch
