SOURCE: 2002 chrysler 300m error codes p0740 and p0700

700 tells you that there has been a "transmission control circuit malfunction", and 740 basically pinpoints the possible culprit, which is "Torque converter clutch control circuit malfunction". If you don't notice any difference in the way the transmission is shifting, especially when you are at cruising speed on highway, or you've basically reached the speed your going to travel at, and are no longer accelerating, your converter normally goes into "lock-up" and your engine RPM's will drop by approx, 200-300 RPM's. When your driving it basically feels like transmission shifted again, slightly. If all feels well, it may just be a one time thing, but being how transmissions are somewhat temperamental, as well as expensive to repair when big problems occur, I would certainly consider getting it in to a dealer for diagnosis at least, and see what they come up with, as it may only be a bad switch, or bad, corroded connection causing the codes. Remember, if it sounds like an expensive, extensive repair, then simply get all the info, and either stop elsewhere for diagnosis of same problem, (without telling them it's already been diagnosed) and see what second opinion has to say. If in doubt after that, get back to us, with diagnosis results, and we'll be glad to help you decide from there. One thing you may want to consider though, is a transmission service, (oil and filter change) if it hasn't been done in a while, just as a preventative maintenance thing. Changing of oil and filter in those transmissions at regular intervals, is a good way of extending the life of them. I recommend the new ,Autopar ATF4 transmission oil, which is more expensive, but guaranteed to last for lifetime under normal driving conditions. Chrysler/Autopar products tend to work better with it, and new filter, although there are many mechanics that will argue that fact, there are just as many mechanics and owners who have seen other oils cause problems, and when they switch to Autopar, those problems disappeared.

Testimonial: "Thanks very much!!! I will have it checked out. I have just had a full service on the car and a new filter etc. installed. "

2005 Chrysler Town and Country 3.3. I have P0513 code and the red dot anti-theft light is flashing.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

Disconnecting the battery is never a good idea as it breaks the code paring between the key, the BCM / ECM and Immobilizer Module. Always charge a car battery in the car without removing it. Even a dead battery has enough volts to keep the ECM / BCM programming alive. Have all the keys done at the same time. If you only have one key, have another chip key cut and programmed. You don't mention a second key, and we get so many people here who lose their only key and ask how to bypass and hot-wire. The answer to that is "you can't".

What does code P0513 mean? The OBD-II code P0513 stands for 'incorrect immobilizer key. ' The code activates when the PCM fails to recognize the immobilizer key (ignition key) despite detecting its presence.

What does a u3fff code on a Chrysler 300

no year care told the manuals are by year and country.
fails USA smog or Canada, can we know this?
no to smog stations are the same USA FED or CALIF are different as is all other countries.
2005 to present made,
no VIN or engine told. and smog is big time on ENGINE types.

U3fff is using a useless scanner for this car.
use only 2008 and newer scan tools
the tool (no toy code readers
Your vehicle uses a CAN bus network for communications and any scan tool used to do what you are trying needs to be CAN capable.

U3fff (the fff means bad data read) F is hex code 1111b
IT MEANS CAN BUS FAILED.
top cause is tool can not do modern Chrysler DTC codes.
FFF = 1111-1111-1111b
U3 means factory only code.
solutions all
DIY buy a real real scan tool 2008 or newer.
get it scanned in a real shop
barrow the tool ,buy one or rent one.
some shops do it for free ASK EM/
some store do it for free but 1/2 the time fail or reasons stated above. wrong tool used.
scan tool can_bus certified + Chrysler too.

I have a check engine light that comes and goes. The error code is P0601 - no other issues, runs fine.

Basically that means that there is an interal fault in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). There have been many reported PCM failures on Chrysler/Dodge products although it is possible for this to happen on any vehicle. In Dodge/Chrysler products, a P0601 trouble code means that a serial communication failed inside the computer at least 6 times.
