I have changed the lower motor mount twice in the last six months, and it is broken again, what is the secret to changing the motor mounts on a 2002 PT Cruiser?
Its broken of coarse,
There is no secret. It sounds like your choice of parts supplier may be at fault. If you have not tried it already. try the dealer. There is no way you should have to replace any motor mount more than once in the life of a car
Ensure the quality of the mount. Also check the dynamic balancing of the engine, propeller shaft and the center bearing.

Place a block of wood under the engine sump to prevent damage when you jack up the engine to take the tension off the mount. Make sure you do not jack the engine up too much as you might damage the exhaust, cooling hoses etc.
