Never done this, but generally, disconnect battery, and any other items which might restrict jacking engine up. Disconnect engine mounts and raise engine just enough to remove and replace the pan. However, why are you wishing to do this? Leaking pan may be be fixed without removal. Also, may just be easier to pull engine out, which would give a chance to fix all leaks or other issues at the same time.

If you brought your car to Honda for service, they probably forgot to reset the maintenance reminder. If you took it to another shop, they probably did not know how to reset it. Anyway, the reset procedure is:

Put your key in the ignition
Turn the key to the II position for a couple of seconds
Then turn the key to the off position
Now push and hold in the odometer reset button
While still holding the odometer reset button, turn the key back to the II position
Hold for I think 10 seconds or so and your maintenance reminder light should reset it self.

SOURCE: how to replace rear struts on 2003 honda accord

You will need to rent a spring compressor or borrow one from advance auto parts. The access ports are usually in the back of the car, some have plastic caps over them usually about 6 inches square and some you have to take the inside trim panel off in the car to gain access. Do not attempt to take the struts out without a spring compressor or you will get hurt as the springs are under a lot of pressure so when un bolted without the proper tool they can come apart and you will for sure need a stich or two.

My 1991 Honda Accord is leaking oil from the driver side but not from the oil pan.

The oil pressure switch often leaks on these models. You will need a lift to verify this. It is not expensive to replace, usually under $50.

How to replace an oil pan on 1991 honda accord

  • Get under the car and locate the oil pan near the front of the vehicle . Put a drain pan within easy reach. Use a socket wrench to remove the nut that holds the oil pan to the car. Hold the pan with your other hand so it won't drop when the nut is removed.
  • Slide the drain pan quickly under the oil pan to catch the old oil. Drain as much as possible.
  • Remove the old oil pan gasket very carefully with a thin paint scraper, and then wipe the surface with engine cleaner or solvent.
  • Rub a bit of oil on the sealing surface to promote adhesion, and attach the new gasket securely. Reattach the oil pan to the car with the bolt.
  • Pour fresh oil into the crankcase. Honda Accord cars will require between 5 and 6 qt., so fill it until the crankcase looks full, and then check it with the dipstick to be sure, adding more if necessary. Back the car off the ramps.
  • Put the old oil in a used milk carton and attach the lid securely. Take the oil to a hazardous materials disposal facility, or to a garage.

    • Drain oil through plug located at the bottom of oil pan.
    • Remove bolts around edge of the oil pan. There are probably around 8 of them.
    • Drop oil pan.
    • Clean gasket material from both block and oil pan.
    • Install new gasket.

How to replace oil pump 1997 honda accord does it need to be primed

You'll have to remove the oil pan to access the oil pump. And no it does not have to be primed. Why do you want to replace the oil pump? Did the oil pressure gauge indicate low pressure? If so did you check the oil pressure sending unit?
