If you have these then the starter has an open in it and is bad.

My 1996 Toyota Camry will not start after I changed the battery. I have put two different batteries and when I turn the key nothing just the internal dash lights go on.

Number 1 tip when changing batteries. Maintain power to the system using wires, jump leads, a battery charger or even a MN1500 - 9 volt battery. You need to reset the security system.

2003 matrix starter relay location

The starter relay is located in the instrument panel junction block.

a couple things you can check quickly.

  1. check for power at the AM2 fuse in the instrument panel junction block. If there is power than its safe to assume the relay is getting power. if there is no power ceck the main 30 amp fuse in the under hood junction block (you owners manual will have this info as well. look for fuses in the index. You can look at an online PDF version on the toyota website)
  2. Make sure the security light is not illuminated. If the security system is active it will not allow the starter to engage.
  3. Check for power on the small wire at the starter with the key in the crank position. If there is power than the starter is bad. If there is no power let me know if you have an automatic or manual transmission and ill see if i can get you more info.

Toyota matrix dead

The first thing is to check the battery, try jump starting it using another car, if it starts then replace the battery and then have the alternator tested, most autoparts stores do this at no charge.

Same here, 03' matrix, car had no problem, after I change the battery it started and go as if nothing wrong then the third-forth time turn switch on, got nothing on the dash board, no cranking, nothing,...

Have you checked the voltage of the battery that was replced, as there might be a drain on the battery as in a glovebx light, or the alternator might be faulty.....

Fisrtly, check the battery voltage with everything off...should be 12.2-12.5 volts..???

Get back and let me know how you went !!!!!

My 2004 Toyota Matrix will not start, when I turn onver the ignisiton key, nothing happens. The light turns on, radio plays, horn ok and battery voltage is 12,6 volts DC

Do you hear a slight click coming from the engine area??? If not your starter selenoid is bad, and needs replacement. If you do hear a click but the engine is having trouble or slow very slow time turning, then it's your battery. If you hear your starter click, but no turn, then its your starter not turning over. If your instrument lights dim out by alot when trying to turn, then it still your battery which is drain. The battery doesn't completly need to be drain in order for your horn, lights to not work, It could be your battery simply drain and doesn't have enough cranking power to roll over the starter. But in this case issue description, It sounds like it is the starter. Could take it out and bring it to autozone and have them test it out.

How to change oil in 04 toyota matrix

Go to Walmart buy four quarts of oil it will say in the owners manuel what to get, a oil filter the store will have a book to look up the car know the engine size and model,a filter wrench, a drain pan and a jack to carefully jack up the front area of the passenger side of the car . I use a old rag and double fold it so the jack dosent mess up the jack point of the car. It will tell you also in the owners manuel where to jack it. PLEASE do not use the factory jack to go under the car buy one. OR go to the dealer and ask for a oil change coupon or go to Goodyear .
