SOURCE: hi there. i have a 1986 toyota hilux 3.0l turbo(knocking)

I have a Toyota Hilux 3.0 KZ-TE fitted with a intercooler and on Saterday on a 4x4 outing the engine light on the dashboard came on and the motor started spluttering and excessive white smoke came out of the exhaust. The problem persisted for several minutes and then went away. The verdict from other 4x4 owners was that the turbo needs an overall, I cannot understand this as it is fine again with no mechanical interferance.

Where is the thermostat in toyota hilux d4d?

If you look in the engine bay where the upper radiator hose comes in towards the motor under the black cover over the top of the motor, the thermostat is likely in the aluminum housing that this hose goes into , 2-4 bolt removal, take the hose off prior, and remove it and the thermostat.
Relatively easy.

HOw do I remove a starter motor from a Toyota HiAce

Replacing brushes on a starter motor is not a job for a novice. However, the procedure is simple. Remove a battery cable, best to remove the earth cable.
Now get yourself in under the vehicle and identify the starter. There should be at least two wires, usually more on the solenoid. One is the positive battery cable, one is the solenoid actuator wire which just pushes onto a spade connector. Any other wires are connected to the same terminal as the battery cable. Remove all these wires from the solenoid.
Either two or three bolts attach the starter to the engine block. Remove these bolts and voila, the starter is out.
Have fun.

What are the bolt and nut locations on a 1992 2WD Toyota Previa?

Hi

There is are 3 bolts securing the starter motor, the starter motor is located under the passenger seat area and should be accessed from under the vehicle. The key is to get the van high enough to be able to slide comfortable under the side of the van to access all bolts, only the bottom bolt has a bolt and a nut the other 2 bolts have threads which secure the starter motor onto the engine there is one bolt at the bottom, one bolt in the middle and one bolt near the very top you will have to undo the 2 x 10mm bolts that hold the dip stick first to be able to get to the middle and top bolt of the stater motor. take your time and have some patience you will get it it just takes practice.

How do i replace a car starter on a toyota tercel 1988?

firstly locate the starter motor; if you don't know what it looks like follow the positive battery lead from the battery to where it is connected, that is the starter motor, you may be able to remove it from the top or from under the vehicle, firstly disconnect the battery lead from the battery then from the starter motor plus the other small lead from the solenoid on the starter, you will see two or three bolts that hold the starter motor in, remove them & the starter motor will pull straight out to replace it opposite to how you took it out....hope this helps....cheers

Hi you did not say what engine or model but based on a 1.3 12v remove disconnect the battery black (negative terminal) then the air filter housing on top with a wing nut.
then you have the carb underneeth it you can remove this to make access easier label all of the vacum hoses etc. and remove the carb by removing four bolts at all four corners at the base of the carberetor.
the starter is at the back of the engine underneeth the manifold undo the solenoid (one bolt with a wire connected) undo the bolts for the starter sorry cant remember how many. you may need to give it some gentle persuasion with a copper hammer. remove and replace.
