98 Saturn SL AC/cooling fan will NOT work

The same thing happened to my 94 Saturn SL before we junked it. When we first bought this 98 (used), the air/fan worked fine. Now, at 147,000 miles, the AC does not turn on when you "turn it on". The fan does not turn on when the car gets too hot. The fan doesn't turn on when you try to run the AC. When I turn the AC on, absolutely nothing happens. I checked all the appropriate fuses and they're all fine. Why does the AC/fan stop working on Saturn SLs after a certain amount of mileage?? :(

Do not let this car over heat a blown head gasket will ensue. Locate and replace the fan relay, if that doesn't fix the problem unplug fan and use jumper wires to ground the plug then feed power to the positive side of plug to check fan, if that doesn't work replace the coolant temperature sensor located somewhere near the intake manifold or thermostat housing area.

1999 Saturn SL2 electrical problems with fog lights, cooling fan, ac, running lights. None of them are working.

first place i would start are the MAXIfuses in the main fuse panel in the engine compartment, they are huge green fuses that should be 30A. but they control a large array of things.

AC not working in 98 Saturn SL2

Did it gradually get warmer over the years or just recently. If it just happened then you could have a leak in the system or a compressor that died. Pressure test the system and verify that the compressor is working. You may get lucky and just need a recharge but more than likely you have a leak somewhere in the system.

94 jeep wrangler overheating

Have the cooling system pressure tested. If it holds pressure, that's a good thing. If it doesn't hold pressure, you may have a leaking head gasket. What may be happening is the crack in the head gasket could be blowing hot air into the cooling system causing it to overheat.
