SOURCE: 2000 Astro van - vent

The problem is a 1/8 diameter hose that runs from the front of the engine over the top and connects at the rear of engine on the drivers side. It is a vacuum hose #GM15967970 It cost about $6.22 at your GM dealer. Hope this helps Bill. My E-Mail is [email protected]
This was posted on a problem with a 2002 astro, I do believe it is the same fix. A simple vacuum hose, It is difficult to route through the engine

SOURCE: bad smell in air vent chevy impala

It is not fixed by an aerosol or scent additive to the air in the cabin. It will only mask the smell for a period of time.

Your cause is the air filter for the A/C system. You can buy a new one at local auto stores.

To replace it, you will need to open your hood. On the passenger side of the car, look just under the windshield at the trim panel under the wipers. You will see several tabs holding down this particular side of the trim piece. Using a phillips head screwdriver, gently rotate the screw pieces out of the tab holder (if this doesn't get it, you'll need to use a small flat head in unison to apply pressure to the screw to come out). There are 3. Once these are removes, gently pull the hood rubber gasket seal up and place out of the way. Note: you won't need to remove it from the car, just enough to clear the trim piece. Remove the trim and you will see a filter. Remove the filter and replace. Installation of trim is reverse.

That will fix your mildew smell from the vents. This WILL NOT fix a mildew smell if caused by interior mildew.

Note: The directions to change this filter are also found in your Owner's Manual if you have it. It is a simple procedure and should take about 15 minutes if you are taking your time.

Thanks for the inquiry.

SOURCE: 2005 Chevy Impala driver's side heat blows cold.

First....buy a drivers side air flow actuator at a auto parts place for dual zone heating/cooling.
(NAPA etc will have it.....or the dealer)
Open the glove compartment.....all the way....you may have to take the screws out at the bottom......look in at the heater assembly....look over to the left....you will see the two air flow actuators.
Look at the part you have and match it to the part on the heater assembly.
The actuator that is closest to the engine is the drivers side control.
Replace it.
Try your controls and check for heat and cooling on both sides.
The stepper motor in these actuators goes bad on quite a few...but over look that.....you have a great car, good for many miles of trouble free driving.

SOURCE: vent door stuck and can't remove glove box

why can't you remove the glove box? You can get at the door from under the dash but it's a ***** to do. try lubing the vent cables unless it uses the vacuum motor, if it uses the vac. motor it will be hard to get to without the glove box being out.

Testimonial: "Thanks! I just don't know how to remove the glovebox."

Where is the blend door actuator located and does dash have to come out on 02eclipse

Yes the dash will have to be removed pending....There are more than one actuator...Some can be reached deep under the center of the dash...You will have to remove lower part of dash and use a good headlight to see it..once you see it you will have to operate the vent controls with engine running to verify the inoperative actuataor....However some vent doors will be broken or stuck shut or open ...This will cause the actuator to malfunction or make you think it is the actuator at fault....Get the new actuator before you begin looking so you will know what you are looking for...If it doesn't solve problem you will have to remove complete dash to access vent doors....A dealer scanner can verify which problem and location of your problem....Don't waste time and have it scanned rather than creating a dash removal nightmare..

My 2006 Impala has an intermittent loud clicking sound coming from under the dash. It will happen with or without the car running. I am also having trouble keeping charge on my battery.

This is probably the Air Blend Door Actuator. There is a small gear driven motor that opens and closes the various heating and air conditioning vent doors inside the dash. Since you hear it after turning the car off, it is most likely the fresh/recirculating air door, and they are designed to automatically open to allow fresh air in when the car is turned off. The clicking you hear is the sound of the gears slipping inside the actuator. The parts are fairly cheap ($20-$35) and with simple hand tools can be replaced.
Here is a video showing them replacing one on a Monte Carlo, which is basically the same as the Impala:

How do i fix a code 0449 on my 2010 impala

Hi there:
There is a vent solenoid in the back left (drivers) side on the inside of the fender by the filler tube where the gas goes to the tank. Just replace it on Chevy cars for this code, it's called an Canister Vent Solenoid or EVAP Vent Solenoid.

Usually this is a bad vent solenoid or a broken wire going to it; You would need a lift. The vent solenoid is near the evap canister which is tucked up into the body by the gas tank. I dont' think you can even see the wires without pulling the canister down...

Trying to figure how to repair my heat in my 2005 impala its not working on driver side but it does on passenger side

If you have dual climate control, it should be the "A/c vent door actuator" google it just like that: A/C vent door actuator and also type your vehicle year and model. Good Luck.

2003 Dodge Ram 4.7, AC barely blows except for floor vents that blow hard. Am told there are four vent actuators? Fuses all good in panel.

Could be a bad recirc door housing, or a bad mode door actuator. There are not four vent actuators. I do see alot of recirc door housings break, and cause the problem you describe.
