This sensor is located in the trans bell housing were it bolts to the engine. I think its on the passenger side of the bell housing. it uses the flywheel for locating #1 cylinder for proper firing and it must be gapped properly as this can cause a problem. by gap I mean the distance if sits from the flywheel when installed, they usually send a paper gasket for this purpose with the sensor. it has a I think a 3 wire plug connector attached to it and is held in with 1 bolt.

I have 2005 I changed the starter and battery good but it still won't start

First does it crank, if it does then check to see if the fuel injectors are getting fuel.....could be a fuel pump...

second....if there is nothing when you turn the key and the battery is good and the starter was replaced...it could be a bad ground.....thats the ground coming off your battery and goes to your chassis of the car.........let me know how you make out.

2001 dodge stratus no crank no start from ignition

When you use the ignition key you activate both the starter and ignition circuits. When you jump the starter motor all you do is crank the engine - you have not energized the ignition so car will not start.

What causes my 2006 dodge stratus run for awhile and shut off. could it be the tempature sencor

if it were my car i would check the fuel pressure, sounds like maybe the fuel pump. first, when it dies and wont start you need to check and see if you have spark. pull off a plug wire and put a scewdriver or such and hold it about a quarter inch from the valve cover while someone cranks the engine. you should see a spark to the valve cover. if no spark then the ignition has problems, like maybe a cam or crank sensor. if there is spark but it dosnt start, its the fuel

Aint getting spark to plugs

If its an automatic try putting in neutral and try starting it instead of park, if that works it's your neutral safety switch mount on the side of the transmission where the linkage attaches

My dodge stratus stalled and wont start

Check the MAP sensor. This measures the air pressure in the maniforld. It is commonly mounted on a fender, low cost and easy to replace.

To test, unplug the electrical connection from the MAP sensor. If it starts, replace the sensor.

Car stals out

I don't know if this will help but I had the same problem on a 1993 Intrepid. It turned out that the problem was a broken wire at the connector to the cam sensor. The way I found it was to have someone crank the engine while I moved the cable to the sensor and I could make the engine start and stop as I wiggled the cable.
