I would try a new thermostat and a good rad flush, and if your running dexcool switch to a green type (prestone, motomaster)
that worked in a ford taurus for us

I just got my 2005 ford freestyle out of the shop they replaced coil number 4 a couple of weeks ago, yesterday they replaced number 1. Last night on the way home the failure engine came across the screen...

Hi Jess. First you need to use a code reader to retrieve the code . When you do so I will be able to help you. It's a 2005 vehicle mean new generation cars. So let's stopped the guessing part that can lead you by west
More money. If you can give me the code I will be able to help. That's what I do for a living. For you it's free service.

Ford taurus air compressor

Ask if the system was checked for leaks. Not just die checked but by actually hooking up gauges and watching. The system could be pulling in air ( and moisture) after being shut down. This is unlikely. But when you eliminate the obvious you have to start looking at the unlikely.

I just got my crank sensor and timing belt done and my car quit after a week. took it to the shop they said now it is the starter.the shop claims the wires are old and the starter is going.I just spent 500...

the timing belt and sensor keep it in time and sync,, that shouldn't prevent it from starting, if starting is the issue you may need a starter,, depending on the mileage this is just one of those things, I have a Kia and mine went out at 120k

Is Ford still repairing the coil problem on the LS V8 2003. I had one done in 2008 (it was covered by Ford) and forgot about it. The Check Engine light came on so I had another coil fixed at another shop...

Never go to a dealer
If you don't do your own work, stay with the
local repair shop

Your out of warantee a long time ago

You will loose one or two coils a year
They are $59.00 at the auto parts store
One bolt,10 min ,and your done

If you have a V6 and they go bad on the pass side, you have to
remove the upper intake for coils or plugs

Other fords the same. You know what not to buy next
time, or look over the motor first

I have spent $59.00 on my 2004 V8 and others
on this site are up to $4000.00 at a dealer and nothing
fixed,point made.
You need to know the technology and how it works, test
first, not the dealer way, then replace parts if necessary

2003 Saturn Ion died out on the freeway

Sounds like a timing belt,, open the oil cap and look in there with a flash light,,
have someone turn the key if you see nothing moving in there then its the timing belt,,

Chrysler Sebring 2004 Convertible Bad Battery Charge Problems

I would look at the alternator. I had a grand am that would do that to me, even with a brand new battery. The alternator output wasn't able to run the vehicle and charge the battery. Alternators are picky things, especially being in Canada (which I assume from the KM), the hot and cold cycles don't play nicely with the brushes and core. I'd have the alternator checked and replaced if needed.
