I have a Ford Ranger 2001 4.0 V6 with 110k miles. Does the timing chain need to be replaced soon? I don't believe it ever has been replaced yet.
Hello;
The Ford motors are pretty good. I had 280K on a 2.9 V-8 that only needed the oil changed every 3K. Unless you have fluctuatuation in the timing then you should be ok.
These engines use a chain rather than a belt and have excellent life.
Thanks;

Can The Guides And Tensioners on a 2001 Ford Ranger 4.0 Engine Back Timing Chain Be Replaced Without Pulling The Engine?
I have a 1993 ford ranger 4x4. Needs front lower and upper ball joints. To order them they ask for the spindle spline count. No tag is on the front drive. Vin number will not give the count. Where can you get it with out pulling the axle?
