The switch is on the transmission..It is usually a dealer item but you can get one from Rockauto.com for about 1/4 of what the dealers charge.

I would recommend going to the autozone.com website and registering the vehicle. It doesn't cost anything and will give you access to an online repair manual for the vehicle. The steps for replacing the neutral safety switch can be found there. (I checked). Hope this helped and best wishes.

no. the noise you're not hearing is the fuel pump. When u turn ur key on you should hear a buzzing like sound from the rear of the vehicle. If not, and ur car don' start, probably fuel pump. Just to verify the faulty fuel pump, have an assistant open the fuel tank cover and remove the gas cap itself. With you inside turn just the key on, and have your assistant listen for the "buzzing" or "hummin" sound. if nothing there, then faulty fuel pump. If noise is present, then perhaps you have a different problem like nothing is reaching the engine, fuel wise. Like a plugged fuel filter. when replacing the fuel pump, ALWAYS do the new strainer as installing the old one could cause a whole new set of problems and eventually wipe out the new one as well *RULE OF THUMB, WITH NEW FUEL PUMP, REPLACE FUEL FITLER.* this will be easier on the pump output to the engine. good luck.!

Your N/S/S is on the passenger side of the transmission directly opposite from where the linkage on the drivers side connects (it's on the same shaft). It is usually corroded onto the shaft and you will need to use lots of wd40 or other solvent and some patience in getting it free. It's plastic and if you pry hard you will break it. The harness is connected up on the firewall near the dipstick tube. Instructions for removal can be found in chiltons or haynes manuals. The switch itself is over $200 new so you may want to find one in a scrapyard or if you are careful (there are small contacts inside with springs) you can take it apart and clean it up.
