High beam indicator stays on even with low beam

Most total headlight failures are caused by a bad component like a fuse, relay, or module. Wiring problems can also cause both headlights to stop working. High beam headlights don't work or low beams don't work. If just one bulb fails to work in either high beam mode or low beam mode, it may be the bulb. Check your manual to find your headlamp relay.

Sounds like the headlight dimmer switch is defective. Remove the steering column covers and replace the switch.

Check if the lights are powered through a head light relay if so change the wiring around, should fix it .

Are the bulbs good?

If your low and high beams are on the same bulb, then the low beam elements have blown even though the high beam still works, you need two new bulbs.

Try this to eliminate new bulbs for both sides:
With a partner behind the wheel:
PULL out the bulbs one at a time. Keep them plugged in. While you are holding the bulb - have your partner click and HOLD the High Beam Selection. This causes the Low Beam and High Beam filaments to both go on and stay on.
Check both sides this way.
While the bulbs are out, look at the filaments that did not illuminate. Are they broken, bent, or have indications they are burnt out?
You can also change to bulbs (left to right, right to left) and recheck using the above method of holding the high beam selector and checking the filaments.

Same thing happened to me when I switched to brighter bulbs, indicator back to normal after switching to stock bulbs

You dimmer switch needs replaced inside the stering column.

Your switch must be working since your indicator is telling you when the high beams are on, so my guess is that your bulbs are faulty. The high beam part. They probably burnt out one at a time, so you didn't notice until the second one went. Change your bulbs, and see if that solves it. If not, let me know.
