SOURCE: Cruise Control on 1996 Nissan

make sure the button on the left side is on, there should be a green light.
also, make sure that u try to activate the cruisecontrol when driving kind of fast, otherwise in wont activate.

clutch, brake, accel or any other input will deactivate the cruise control

Is there a fuse for the cruise control?

Most cruise controls are vacuum actuated. check for vacuum leaks. This also occurs at the brake petal where cruise is disengaged, check for proper adjustment on the cruise switch.

Cruise control button stopped working 1996 nissan maxima, I've replaced it twice but it's stil not working, What to do?

are you sure that the switch is bad and not the vacuum line that operates the cruise function. check under the hood for a loose hose or a vacuum leak.

1996 Cruise Control will not work.

Possible issues may be:
A bad connection with the control mod.
A broken or leaking vacuum hose leading to the cruise mod.
A blown fuse
Those are the most common issues regarding cruise control

Cruise control quit working. Is there a fuse somewhere that I can check. None of the fuse box locations have a cruise control label

Bad relay. They are to the right of the fuses (fuses inside the car). You can see the relays if you open the cover to the fuses (they are big blue cubes), but will need to remove a few screws to remove the panel to get to them. I can't remember which one it is, it might make a clicking noise when you try and turn on the cruise. Or you can swap "matching relays - compare diagram on top" and see what else stop working. I had to replace several, my dash when out, my cruise, and I think one is the fan that blows your ac and heat.
