Why has the ESP and BAS lights come on in my 2006 Jeep Liberty?

If you talking about abs/traction control system then each wheel has own speed sensor

This video is for a liberty, but all Jeeps should be similiar.

when repair is done the warning light will reset

Have to check for codes & diagnose them, to find that out

Obviously you have a system fault

Nothing new there,same as all vehicle problems

Work on it,find a problem

Read your owners manual

Don't have one,can't find it,never read it, or anyone's
owners manual

Why,why I ask-- after 34 years of having computers on all
vehicles-- is ANY Vehicle issue any different from the last ?

Same process every time

Check the battery
Check for OBD Codes
Diagnose those codes

Do not install any parts based on codes

Find a problem,then the solution

Need a repair shop

No one without decades of experience, can work
on today's technology

You do not even need to pull codes to use Google,
to ask these questions & see what abs,trac,esp, are

i took my 2007 jeep liberty 4x4 to the carwash but it was freezing out side as soon as i came out of the carwash the esp abs the skid car in the middle came on

If the ESP light is on, the system is not functioning. have your dealer look at and replace your Brake Light Switch

You need to take the jeep to a dealer or a good mechanic who can retreive the codes out of the computer. You may have a module problem but I will not guess without knowing the codes.
